Supermarket subsidiary Tesco Mobile has scooped an award from Which? for its SIM only mobile offerings, standard contracts, Pay as You Go deals and mobile broadband.

It has been reported that the communications arm of supermarket giant Tesco has scooped an award for a range of its mobile offerings, including standard mobile phone contracts, SIM only mobile, Pay as You Go plans and mobile broadband deals. The supermarket giant beat off competition from the likes of O2 to win the award.

As part of the selection process providers that were entered for the awards were judged on factors such as the customer service levels offered along with the value for money that the services and plans offered. Another factor that was taken into consideration was the performance of the providers in the regular satisfaction surveys that are held by Which?

An official from Which? said: ‘To win a Which award, not only must a company offer outstanding products or services, it must also deliver exceptional value and a great customer experience. This is especially important at a time when consumers are really feeling the pinch. Tesco isn’t the first name that comes to mind when you think of mobile phones, but it is outdoing many of the established providers when it comes to customer satisfaction.’

SIM only contracts and standard mobile phone contracts have proven popular with Tesco, which has gone from strength to strength in the mobile services sector and has fought off stiff competition from specialist mobile phone companies.
